How does Steam Cleaning Work?
Steam cleaning is the process of using hot water to saturate and absorb contaminants from the carpet. It is the most effective cleaning method for several reasons. It is the most thorough, it kills built up germs and bacteria hiding in the carpet, and it absorbs the hidden dust, dander and allergens. First the carpet is treated with a pretreatment of chemicals based on the cleaning need. The chemicals are given time to soak in and bond with the contaminants. The cleaning wand that is used has been designed to spray water at over 200° F deep into the carpet fibers. In the next stroke the high powered vacuum suctions the water, chemicals and absorbed contaminants from the carpet.
How Does Steam Cleaning Kill Germs and Bacteria?
Most household germs and bacteria live within a certain temperature range. When water above 175° F is applied, these organisms are eradicated. They are then rinsed from the carpet fibers leaving the carpet clean and germ-free!
