One of the most asked questions by our customers is "How long until our carpet dries?" Well the answer is, that it depends on the process used to clean the carpet. The industry standard for annual cleaning is hot water extraction a.k.a. "Steam Cleaning" If you like most people get your carpets cleaned more than once a year then you have many options open up that can be more affordable and less intrusive than cleaning and waiting 6-12 hours for your carpets to dry. We at The Carpet Doctors believe in friendly, affordable service that fits your carpet cleaning needs, so we offer many alternatives such as dry cleaning and low moisture encapsulation cleaning (Encap).
Why Low Moisture?
When you think of cleaning generally water is involved. But did you know that water not only rinses away dirt and grime, but it also takes a very small amount of the color with it. Just think of your favorite five year old tee shirt that has been washed hundreds of times. The colors are most likely not as bright as your seasonal clothing you wear. That's where our low moisture cleaning processes come in to play. Designed for light soiling or interim cleanings our low moisture cleaning was developed to clean your carpets without the risk of color loss. We always recommend biannual steam cleaning. However it can easily be supplemented by one of our low moisture alternatives for traffic areas that need more frequent attention.
What is Dry Cleaning?
Dry cleaning is defined as any process that is completely dry within 2 hours of having completed the service. We are happy to be able to provide services that require no dry time at all and are ready for immediate use!
How does Dry Cleaning work?
A relatively new process, dry cleaning involves a solvent that is applied to the soiled area, then agitated to loosen and encapsulate contaminants. Application of this solvent varies from a liquid form to a dry powder depending on the circumstances and application. The final step is always to thoroughly vacuum the encapsulate away along with the contaminants contained within. This is a highly effective process for traffic areas that cannot be shut down for cleaning , or areas that get very little traffic and do not require a deep cleaning.
